NEREZINE, a town and port on the north-eastern coast of the
island of Losinj, 5 km south of the Straits of Osor, at the foot
of the hill Osorscica (Televrina, 589 m). Chief occupations are
farming, viniculture, fishing, seafaring and tourism. |

The town is famous for its lush vegetation and beautiful,
unpolluted sea. From the hill Osorscica above Nerezine a view is
offered on Losinj, the sea and the surrounding islands: Cres,
Susak, Srakane, Unije; a nice path leads to the top. |

|
On the St. Anna's Day the local population cherishes the
tradition of climbing to the top of Osorscica where a mass is
held in the St. Nicholas' Chapel. Tourist resort Bucanje,
situated between the coves Galboka and Studenac, almost connects
Nerezine with Sveti Jakov (St. James). |
